Of Children and Choice

Part 2


Introduction

The notion of “children and choice” is not a 20th century idea. If you and I could journey back to the time of the ancient Israelites and their Canaanite neighbors, we would observe Ashtoreths in which the worship of this fertility goddess included sexual rituals. We would also be horrified at the sight of the Ammonite god, Molech. It was to him that the Ammonites, and at times, the Israelites engaged in the deplorable practice of burning their sons and daughters.

Marco Margaritoff, in his article The True History of Moloch, The Ancient God of Child Sacrifice writes (quoting a Medieval French Rabbi, Shlomo Yitzchaki)

Topheth is Moloch, which was made of brass; and they heated him from his lower parts; and his hands being stretched out, and made hot, they put the child between his hands, and it [he or she] was burnt; when it [the child] vehemently cried out…the priests beat a drum, [so] that the father might not hear the voice of his son, and his heart might not be moved. In this blog, I will “flip the script” from the truth that children are miracles and blessings, and I will address the lie that they are blobs and burdens. So, if you will traverse with me through this valley of the shadow of death, we will find our way to the ultimate destination that each of us is longing for–Life, and that more abundantly. 


Destination - Truth in Definitions

Abortion is not easy to talk about because death is not. However, we must uncover things that are difficult for us to willingly reveal. Otherwise, when we attempt to hide behind the veil of silence, we will suffocate in the darkness of our souls, being tormented by a conscience which knows the truth. 


Abortion

First, what is abortion? According to the definition from Oxford Languages, “abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy”. Consequently, if a pregnancy is intentionally ended, the developing baby will die.


Life is ended in two basic ways: naturally, and by killing or murder. Abortion is unnatural.

  • To kill means to cause the death of a person, animal, or other living thing.

  • To murder refers to a specific type of killing: the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought. Concerning the legality issue, murder is always an illegal act, while killing can be lawful or unlawful. As for the intent, murder requires malice aforethought meaning there was an intent to kill or cause serious harm. Killing does not necessarily involve intent, as it can be accidental or unintentional. 

Hence, according to these definitions, abortion is always murder because it concerns a human being, a person. Accordingly, there are the elements of intention, planning, making appointments, etcetera, to end the pregnancy.


Destination - Truth in Statistics in America

I’m convinced that statistics of this sort will always be inaccurate to some degree because it is a grievous sin, and at the root of all sin is the seed of a lie. Thorough abortion reporting is simply not something that abortionists would be transparent about since this gruesome practice lends itself to having many “skeletons in the closet”.  


For the purposes of this blog, I will not focus on abortion statistics which have rape or incest as the reasons. These heinous acts are already crimes whereof the perpetrators are punished despite any abortions that follow. The singular reason under consideration is that of elective (and unspecified reasons). According to the Lozier Institute’s most recent fact sheet on abortion from May 2024, elective and unspecified reasons accounted for 95.9% of all abortions. Absolutely staggering!


Destination - Truth in Responsibilities

So, who’s the responsible party as it relates to abortion? I believe there are several responsible parties involved in this evil enterprise, beginning with the civil government. 


Government Responsibility

Because of their primary calling to protect the innocent and punish the guilty, our governing authorities carry a great deal of responsibility in this matter of abortion. As servants of God, they are ultimately accountable to Him. However, they have rebelled against God’s law to protect life and have codified a pretended law that a woman has the right to an abortion. This new “right”, which unleashed the spirit of Molech in America, came about after the infamous 1973 Supreme Court cases: Roe v. Wade and its companion case, Doe v. Bolton. 


In Roe v. Wade, the Court addressed the constitutionality of a Texas statute that criminalized abortion except to save the mother’s life. The Court ruled that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment protects a woman’s right to privacy, which encompasses her decision to have an abortion. 

Concurrently, Doe v. Bolton challenged Georgia’s abortion law… Together, these two decisions declared abortion a constitutional right and effectively overturned most state laws that prohibited or severely restricted abortion across the United States. https://legalclarity.org/who-was-on-the-supreme-court-in-1973/ 



The Constitution

 These cases, and the perverted reasoning from the Court to legitimize them, were absolute travesties of justice and affronts to our Constitution. The Fourteenth Amendment which was passed by Congress on January 31, 1865, reads in part: “[N]or shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor to deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” The Supreme Court ruling on Roe and Doe both usurped the authority of states to protect innocent life and it simultaneously deprived the pre-born child of his or her right to life. There was certainly no due process of law for the child.


The Declaration of Independence, which is not only our founding document, but it is also our philosophy of government states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” These undeniable truths upon which the Founders pledged their Lives, Fortunes, and sacred Honors, are certainly being denied to the unborn. 


Connections

Realistically, these cases proved to be preludes to seismic changes in the culture. Therefore, rather than viewing children as miracles and blessings, they were (and to some degree are) seen as blobs and burdens. Of course, this mindset did not suddenly appear; it was borne out of the uncleanness of the sexual revolution. 


This powerful revolution was energized by the Ashtaroth spirit. People were swept away by the enticing “freedom” to use sex for recreational, self-serving pleasure as well as for other illicit reasons. Of course, children were the fruit of this act, and unfortunately, some of them were unwanted. In steps Roe and Doe to solve these unwanted problems. 


The Cry

To the current responsible governing officials, there is a just Judge who governs the entire universe…It is before Him that you will stand. So, I implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. If, however,  you cover your sins, you will not prosper, but if you confess and forsake them, you will have mercy. 


The Abortionist’s Responsibility

Several decades have passed since Roe and Doe, and over 63.5 millions tiny lives have been discarded. Even with the Dobbs decision which effectively overturned these cases and returned the authority to regulate abortions back to the states, there is yet a slight uptick in abortions. The most recent data from the Society for Family Planning’s #WeCount project reveals that there were 1.4 million abortions in 2024, up from 1.05 million in 2023. Incalculable damage has been done to America’s soul, and we are in a literal death grip by the spirit of Molech.


Sadly, Molech has established strongholds in his temples known as abortion facilities. Those who do his bidding are called abortionists. 


Abortionists carry the deceptive title of “doctors”; a leadership position which commands great respect. Real doctors devote many years of study and training, as well as significant amounts of money in preparation for their particular health and life enriching craft. Abortionists, however cannot rightly be called doctors because they have grossly violated the foundational principles of the Hippocratic Oath which are to beneficence (doing good) and non-maleficence (doing no harm). Abortion certainly does no good to the baby-once referred to as a blob- or to the mother. Also, it inflicts irreparable harm on the baby and scars the mother. In truth, these “physicians” operate more like Satan’s delves who, unlike Santa’s elves which bring wonderful presents, abortionists, who literally have blood on their hands, take priceless gifts.


The Cry

O, Abortionists, if you will cry out to the Great Physician and ask Him to remove the heart of stone from your soul, to forgive you of all of your sins, and to cleanse the blood of the innocent from your hands, He will. For if you cover your sins, you will not prosper, but if you confess and forsake them, you will find mercy.


The Man’s Responsibility

The man (father) has the most intimate and authoritative role in this whole narrative of abortion. His sperm, along with the egg from the woman, was necessary to bring this new life into being. This is the irreversible design of the Creator. Thus, as the one who fathered this child, God holds him responsible to protect and care for his little one, even in utero. It is an infidel mind which seeks to “get rid of” the child, thus viewing this new life as a burden or an intrusion on his thirst for selfish pleasure or quest for financial freedom. It is a denial of personal responsibility, and a short-sighted perspective of reality. 


God says, “Man, where are you? Don’t you know that you are in rebellion against Me? I have commanded fathers to make known to their children My teachings and My testimonies; so that the generation to come might know them, the children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God but keep His commandments.” (Psalm 78:5-7) “Yet, you are destroying your posterity and cutting off those who might serve Me.” (Psalm 22:30a)


The Cry

O, Man, if you would ask the Heavenly Father to forgive you of all of your sins and for acting worse than an infidel, He will. And He will adopt you as His son. For if you cover your sins, you will not prosper, but if you confess and forsake them, you will find mercy. 


The Woman’s Responsibility

The woman (mother) has the weightiest responsibility because she must deliberately seal off the chambers of her heart which prepare her to nurture and care for the developing babe in her womb. She must silence the demanding assertions of her conscience which insists that murder is wrong. She must intentionally shut down the sad moaning of her feminine nature which is given to mothering, and instead, she must alienate this person whom she has not seen but who is undeniably there. In this way, she rejects her reward; she destroys the fruit of her womb.


And the LORD asks, “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb?” Isaiah 49:15a


The answer is yes. It is for selfish pleasure, material gain, and personal pursuits that she will not have compassion on the baby in her womb. Hence, she greatly harms her own soul and body when she makes the choice to have an abortion. 


The Cry

If Mary, the mother of Jesus, were here today, she would say to you, “O, Woman, humble yourself. Let this pregnancy be to you according to the Word of God, according to the One who is the Author of life.” Dear woman, you who have been born must be born again. Ask God to forgive you of all of your sins and your abortion, and He will. For if you cover your sins, you will not prosper, but if you confess and forsake them, you will find mercy. 


The Church’s Responsibility

Since the 1973 Roe and Doe decisions, the majority of the Church has remained silent. Of the times that I have prayed in front of abortion facilities or have participated in pro-life functions, there have been only a remnant of believers present. Additionally, I’ve sat in many church services and have never heard a sermon preached on the preciousness of human life and the poison of abortion. It was/is as though the holocaust of the unborn was not happening right in our backyard, and if it was mentioned, well, we would not let it settle on our minds for too long. Press us, and we’d say, “That’s not my ministry”, or “the church should not be involved in politics.” The drums would begin playing, and we’d just sing louder.  


Well, here we are some 50 years later after having refused to be the prophetic voice in the culture. As the Church of Jesus Christ, however, we cannot afford to be indifferent nor silent. Proverbs 24:11-12 commands us to “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Surely we did not know this,” does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?”


The Cry

O, Church, without us being that prophetic voice providing clarity to how God intends society to operate, lawlessness concerning life has taken root. We are to be watchmen, warning others of the tragic result of unrepentant sins. We are to be in every place proclaiming the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our indifference and silence screams that we don’t care and that we consent to this evil. If we, the Church, would confess and forsake our sins, we will shine brighter in a dark world.


Destination - Truth in Confessions

To confess means that we say the same thing that God says. We’re not to try to make something less than or other than what it actually is. God has already spoken; and He only speaks Truth. In humility, we simply agree.


Final Destination - Truth in Redemption

Everyone is born a sinner. There is no one who is righteous, no, not one. There is nothing we can say or do to change this reality. However, Jesus Christ has done what we cannot do. He is not a sinner; He lived a sinless life in total obedience to the Father. He took upon Himself our sins on the cross and died for us. He took the wrath of God for us. He was buried and rose from the grave on the third day. Therefore, He conquered sin, death, and Satan. He doesn’t want anyone to perish in hell. He calls to every sinner, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you are born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God.” 

Jesus Christ will give you the new birth–a new and abundant life– then you will become a child of God and will dwell in His house forever.
